CO Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) Steps
A hot tube of plastic material (parison) is dropped from the extruder and reaches a water-cooled die.
When the mould is closed, air is injected from the top or bottom of the container, causing it to expand like a balloon. When the material comes into contact with the walls of the mould, it freezes and maintains its rigid shape in the same way as the shape of the mould.
Bottles produced by EBM produce top and bottom burrs that should be further removed and trimmed in the sub-mould. For cases like treated bottles, the burrs should be removed either by an automatic deburring device or by hand.
After these three processes, the container is complete. Depending on the purpose of the bottle, other tests such as leak detection should be carried out if necessary.
