Post Tensioning System

Post Tensioning System is the compressive stress applied to a structure in advance during construction in order to improve the service performance of the structure. Pre-added compressive stress during the service period of the structure can fully or partially offset the tensile stress caused by the load, avoiding the destruction of the structure, and is commonly used in concrete structures.

The Concept of Post-tensioned

1. Prestressing force is the stress applied to the member before loading;

2. Prestressing force makes full use of the compressive strength and tensile strength of the material, and can improve the crack resistance of concrete, but will not improve the load carrying capacity of the member;

4. The inverted arch of the member caused by prestressing can offset the deflection of the constant load, but it has almost no effect on the deformation caused by variable loads;

5. prestressing is an internal force in the member, which does not destabilize the member, but rather improves the stability of the member. For example, prestressing can be applied to precast piles to improve the stability of the piles during transportation and pile driving;

Components of Post-Tensioning System

A prestressing system usually consists of several components, including anchor, wedge, strand, and bellows.

Post Stressing Anchor

Prestressing anchors are mainly used to maintain the tension in the prestressing tendons and transfer it to the concrete, and have significant advantages in the application of post-tensioned structures or members.

The fixture and connector in the pre-stressing anchorage system are pre-stressing anchorage devices derived from different applications, the anchoring principle is exactly the same, and the under-anchor support system has a clear and simpler structure.

Post Tensioning Wedge

Prestressing strand tensioning anchorage wedge is also called prestressing wedge.

1. After the installation of anchorage is completed, it is followed by the installation of wedge. The wedge is located at the rear of the anchorage and is threaded on top of the single strand. Clip is a steel structure, its shape is conical hollow structure. It is composed of two pieces, which is convenient for on-site installation.

 2. The clamp is smooth in appearance and has teeth marks on the inner wall, which restricts the displacement of the strand under stress and increases the friction.
