W-Beam Guardrail End Terminals Working Principle

Both the vehicle and the end of the guardrail are deformable bodies, and the vehicle will collide forward to form a trajectory after impact. Once an accident occurs where the vehicle hits the W beam guardrail, the vehicle body itself will be damaged and destroyed, and the W-Beam Guardrail and Terminal end and Some other uncontrollable variables such as body friction on the ground can absorb part of the impact energy. Among them, if the W beam guardrail absorbs the impact energy of the vehicle better, the harm to the vehicle (including the occupants) will be less.
